Employment Services

Job Readiness Training involves a commitment from the individual to attend weekly group sessions that are geared around teaching. Key Focus Areas include:
  • Discovery/Exploration, Trial Work and Work Assessments provide a way to identify skills, strengths, work goals and career interests.
 
  • Employment Services Placement Specialists and Job Coach/Trainers provide one-on-one meetings to assist job seekers to identify career opportunities, secure employment and maintain employment.
 
  • Challenge Unlimited offers Job Club and Jobs 100 credit classes (via Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL) to develop work-ready skills. These are held in an interactive classroom setting, and the instructors facilitate topics including development of interpersonal skills, goal setting, skills and interests, how to fix attitudes for work, reducing work barriers, safety, promoting and interviewing, and overall workplace success.
 
  • Internships are developed with local businesses to obtain college credits and develop on the job skills in chosen fields through a partnership with Lewis and Clark Community College.

Our transition to work program is designed to help high school students with disability find employment opportunities in the workplace that will help them discover their potential. Employment Services staff are available to assist students and parents in the transition process from school to work by providing information on options for training and services.

Challenge Unlimited partners with local Transition Committees and local schools to assist students and their parents in the school to work transition process.

We provide linkage for schools and parents on how to obtain funding from their state vocational rehabilitation agency.

Through networking and community involvement, Challenge Unlimited Employment Services team develops job opportunities for young adults with disabilities in businesses that can launch careers.

With a dedicated team of trained Employment Services specialists, Challenge Unlimited partners with employers in our communities to place individuals with disabilities into jobs that promote integrated work settings. Our dedicated, trained specialists provide the worker with ongoing supports designed around a person’s individual strengths and skills. Challenge Unlimited works to support individuals through one-on-one consultation and job coaching support, as needed, to ensure successful ongoing employment. One on one consulting + job coaching + dedicated training specialist This process is aimed to meet the individual’s interests, goals and abilities and it is underscored by the various work opportunities we offer and seek.
