Special Olympics Golf Team going for gold at the outdoor sports festival

The Special Olympics Golf Team from Residential Options traveled to Decatur, IL to participate in the 2011 Outdoor Sports Festival on September 10th. Steve Bowling, Eric Cravens, Jennifer Green, Tom Ribbing, and David Smith played at Hickory Point Golf Course in nearby Forsyth, participating in 5-hole rounds of golf and individual skills competitions.
The team qualified for the Decatur event during the seven week golf clinic in June held at the Yorktown golf course in Belleville, IL. Each of the players earned medals for their skills out on the links at Yorktown.
Tom Ribbing won a 5th place ribbon for his performance in the individual skills competition. Jennifer Green and David Smith won silver medals, Steve Bowling won bronze, and Eric Cravens received a gold medal for their games of 5-hole golf.
